Check disk and scanning problems

I have Windows professional installed as the OS. The problem is that everytime the system is booted chckdisk startes and startes to scan the C drive.
My Pc configuration is Inte Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz, Intel Original D865GBF Borad, 256 DDr Ram with 400 system speed, 80 GB HDD, 128 MB Geforce AGP.
