Chart labels linked to cells

I custom annotate my charts and I'd like to be able to
reference spreadsheets cells from the text I place on the
chart so that I can update the cell rather than modifying
the text in the chart. Is there a way to do this?

Hi
try the following e.g. for the titlw)
- select the text filed
- hit F2 our click in the formula bar
- enter the equation sign '=' and select your cell

Custom text boxes are pretty easy too. Select the chart, type what you
want, and the textbox appears in the center of the chart. Position and
format it however you like.
