Is there any way to change xp pro so it does not reboot during a stop error.
I need to identify the error message, but it only shows on the screen for
one second before rebooting.

Jason Gallas:
Control Panel>System>Advanced> Startup and Recovery Settings. Uncheck
Automatically Restart. OK you way out.

The problem I am having is I cannot get into the GUI either in safe mode or
normal mode because it reboots before I get there. Is there a way to do
this from the recoveyr console command line?

Nevermind, I got it to recover an old version of the registry. Thanks for
everyone's help!

Turn this off in Control Panel - System - Advanced, click Settings in
the Startup and Recovery section. There uncheck 'automatically
restart'. You can also usefully change the 'write debugging
information' to (none) unless you are actively needing a dump for
debugging something, or to 'small dump' if you are getting errors that
you wish to report on to Microsoft.
