Just got a new computer with XP home. It came with a user name of Michael.
Can I change that user name or do I have to add a new one and delete the one
I don't want? As it is a family computer, I want the name to be "The
Family". If I can, can you tell me how or where I can find the info?

Thanks

Hello Michael.
Yes you can go to START-CONTROL PANEL-USER ACCOUNTS-
ADVANCED TAB In the middle you will see an ADVANCED
button hit that. Go to users folder and then right click
on Michael and you can choose rename.

The best way is to make a new user and delete the old one. If you just
rename the old one the only place it actually renames is on the welcome
screen. All the folders will still say Michael. Creating a new user makes
new folders.

Thanks. I really appreciate the help.

Mike
