Changing to Share printer setting in WinXP

In WinXP going from Do Not Share this Printer to share
this printer on home network. I try to change this
setting, but keep getting an error "Printer settings
could not be saved. Operation could not be completed".

Help
 
Is this Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional?

Are there any entries in the System Event Log (Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer) with a "Source" of
"Print"
or
"Service Control Manager" that mention "Print" or "Spooler"?

What make and model of printer and how is it attached (e.g. parallel port,
USB port, network)?
