Changing the author's name

I purchased my computer from a friend. Is there a way to change his name
(Rick)as the author on my documents?

C:\Documents and Settings\Rick\My Documents\
 
Hi,

When you say "author" it makes me think of the author of a document as
defined in the Office setup. I don't think you mean that.

What you're referring to below in the Docs and Settings path is the username
of the user. You need to create a new user on the machine (you) and then
delete your friend as a user on the computer. By now you probably have stuff
in his user tree that you want (documents, favorites, desktop) so you'll
want to "clone" him as yourself. Here's some info on how to do this:
