changing text shadow color in PowerPoint 2007?

How do you change the text shadow color in PowerPoint 2007. It is easy to do
in all other PowerPoint versions but how in 2007?

Pastor Bob,
On the Format contextual tab, in the WordArt styles group, click on the text
effects button, choose shadow, shadow options at the bottom, you can adjust
the color there.
If your text is in a shape and the shape has no fill and you want to apply a
shadow to the text, use the button shape effects - shadow - shadow options
in the shape styles group.

Luc, Thanks for the reply. I discovered the problem was that I was saving it
to 2003 version so it would play on our PowerPoint computer at church. So it
was running in "Compatible" mode. You have to be in 2007 version before the
shadow controls are not grayed out. Now I will have to see if the shadow
effects remain when I do a "save as" a 2003 PowerPoint.

The effects should stay, but you may not be able to edit the shape.

You might also think about updating the computer at church with the
compatibility pack. This should let you open the 2007 files on the other
machine. (Two caveats: First, the machine to get the compatibility pack must
be running Office 2002 or 2003. Second, the machine must be up-to-date with
service packs and required patches for Office and Windows.)

Kathy, thanks for the information.

Our PowerPoint computer at church is used only to run PowerPoint
presentations and only has PowerPoint 2003 on it and not the rest of Office.
It also has no updates as it is purposely not connected to our wireless
Internet. It is running XP Home and has no firewall or virus protection on
it. We are keeping it "lean" so that nothing slows it down when projecting
transitions and effects and showing video.

I have just now starting experimenting with PowerPoint 2007 and if it proves
to allow for a much better experience in the final presentation I will
install 2007 on the presentation computer. Thanks again for your input.

While I understand the theory of "keep it lean", in practice if you are
running PPT 2003 you need to install the service packs. There was a problem
with PPT 2003 as it was shipped that kept it from opening some
presentations.

That said, my guess is that you are going to like the effects, etc. in 2007
enough that you will end up going to that version on both machines. (My two
cents only)
