Changing slides in a running presentation from another computer

I am trying to figure out if there is an easy way to change a presentation
that is continously looping on one computer from another machine on the LAN
and have the presentation update without going to the computer running the
presentation, stopping the presentation and restarting it. We are running
Office 2000.

I have a solution running using embedded slides in an Access database, but I
know that there has to be a better and easier way.

I can see if those will work. I do need to change the number of slides in
the presentation on the fly also, so I am not sure those files will work.
The other issue I have will need to deal with is that my workplace is pretty
uptight about installing outside software and patches, but I will check if
I can install those.
