Am preparing presentation with several slides. I want to blackout certain
slides (by pressing B) and then when ready for the next slide to make it
appear without going back to the previous slide that has been "blacked
out"...how is that done?
At present by pressing enter the old slide appears momentarily before
proceeding to next slide.

Pretty sure it cant be done

Workaround : Draw a black rectangle over the slide and have it appear as
part of the click sequence. Obviously only works if you have a "planned"
black screen though I suppose you could have a trigger and have it on all
slides pressing the trigger only when needed

Did that answer the question / help?

What John said. Trigger is probably the best bet. You can create a button
(they can be invisible too, if you do not want the audience to see it. To do
so, simply set the fill to 99%, and the line color to no line) which will
trigger the black rectangle to appear.

Here's a trigger tutorial that you can refer to:

You could just have a black slide in between each slide and instead of
pressing "B" twice, click the mouse once to go to the black screen and click
again to go to the next slide.
