changing lenghth of still clip individually

I need to be able to change the lenghth of a still picture
clip so I can use a narration, or no narration with each
picture. I want to adjust each picture individually.
Currently my picture is set at 4 seconds and in the time
line it is too small to be moved. Thank you in advance

Zoom into the timeline (the Page Down key or the little magnifying glass
icon - 3rd from left above the timeline).... and you'll be able to change
the duration of a still picture.

If you zoom in on the timeline, you will be able
to resize your still-picture clips with finer
precision.
