Hi
I'm thinking about adding a second (much faster) hard disk drive to my
system. This new hdd i plan to put my version of windows xp on Also, i plan to
upgrade my ram as well. I know hardware changes like reformatting drives
means you havta reactivate but will doing this cause my any serious problems
regarding activation? ive only had to reactivate a couple of times so far i
think.

help would be appreciated :)

The ram should'nt be an issue so long as youve double chked the exact
type youre replacing. For xp,if youre upgrading an IDE hard drive, you need'nt
have to reinstall at all run xps XCOPY.Simply set the new drive as slave to
C: (xp),format the drive in xp,once thru with that,go to run,type:
XCOPY C:\*.* D:\ /c/h/e/k/r Agree to all in the DOS window, once its thru,C:
is now on youre new hd & you can delete the old xp install on old hd once
youve
reset jumpers & set acordingly..Also,D: being the new hd,if asigned diffrent
letter then use that instead of D: This set up works great in xp....
