My first PC came with Windows ME installed in a "Primary Master" hard
drive (1). I later added a second hard drive (2) as "Primary Slave",
on which I installed Windows XP Pro and which got the drive-letter
"D". I now want to transfer this hard drive to a new PC, which will
also have a second hard drive (3)(the second hard drive won't have any
operating system installed).
I assume that hard drive (2) should be the Primary master and hard
drive (3) the primary slave in the new pc. Will the drive-letter of
(2) remain "D" or will it change to "C"? If it changes, I assume it
will affect the installation of my programs. Is there any way to
prevent the drive-letter from changing? If it does change, how can I
assign (3) to "C" and re-assign (2) to "D"?
