how do you change the drive letter for a particular drive? i have a Maxtor
external hard drive which i use for digital photos. . . got another smaller
one for music and they have somehow switched drive letters. . the first one
has had "H" and the new one was designated "F" but now they have switched.
.. . no big deal but was curious as to how you did change the letters. .
..thanks

Change it through disk management. Right click My Computer | Manage | Disk
Management. In the right pane right click on the drive and chose change
drive letter. This will work for all drives except the system and boot
drives (System drive is where the files are that boot the OS - boot.ini,
ntldr, and ntdetect.com. Boot drive is where the XP OS is installed, where
the \windows folder resides.

Go to Start | Help and support and search on change drive letter or disk
management for info.
