Changing Desktop Icons

I have been trying to change my desktop icons to different icons. I Right
click on the icon - click on Properties -click on Change Icon - Click on the
icon I want and it becomes highlighted - then Click OK - the icon that I
picked shows up by the web address - I Click on Apply - the new icon is
still showing by the web address - but when I click OK - the icon does not
change but it flickers like it is trying to change. Anyone.

Windows XP SP 2 with all updates.

prob over the top but to change desktop icons and [Others} I use a program
called Microangelo__have done for all the years I have been on the web
