changing attachment program

i do not know how to change the program that is used when trying to open PDF
files and other attachments. right now it chooses Word, but this program does
not let me read the files. can this be changed?? it doesn't give me an option
to change this.

Yes, you need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader for PDF files (there are probably
some other readers). If you don't have it now, getting it and installing
it will fix the association.

If you do have Acrobat Reader installed, and the association is broken, open
an Explorer window. Go to tools, Folder Options, and the File Types tab.
Look for the PDF type and in the Details section choose Change. Select
Acrobat Reader. Choose OK back to Explorer.

Adobe Reader is the best one to use for opening PDF files.
Help & Support tells how to change file associations.
