Changing ADP SQL Connection when SQL Server is dead

How can I change the server connection in an Access ADP file if the original
server is dead?

The ADP file will not open.

[I'm using Access 2002 - Office XP]

The ADP should open Disconnected. You can then go to File Connection and
specify the new server.

Does it not open at all?

This is the error...

"File C:\....\xxx.adp" or one of it's components can't be found"

To answer the question...no it doesn't open and ask me to re-connect.

Have you tried to open the database using the shift key,
this should prevent the startup code from running and then
when you time out you can reset the connection.
Try opening Access first, then using the shift key to open
the database with Access.
