Hello,

Is it possible under XP Pro to change a file's version
number? I've tried several utilities that change a file's
last read/write and access time but I haven't found any
that can change the file's version number.

Please help me out,

Brent G.

A file version number, if present, is stored in the file itself. It's not
an operating system file attribute like the dates. For display of
properties Windows reads it from the file. Why would you want to change it?
What are you trying to do?

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. The reason why I
wanted to change the value is because my son really wants
to load another "map" in his UT game, but when he tries
to load it, he gets an error saying "FLS package version
mismatch".
