Changes on FE using switchboard

Hi,

I need help on making a change on an existing database already in use among
six users...the following posting was put in DB design forum:
I have a shared database between 6 users using the FE/be design on Acess
2000.The switchboard works fine for all except for when i need to make a
change like add a different button on the master copy and copy this front end
to another users desk. This one change affects all the other users with an
error since their front end does not have this one change.I reversed the
change and the errors for all the other users stopped. Can i not custom
make a FE design independant of what the other users? Please advise
Thanks

What you're describing makes no sense. Each user's front-end is independent
of all other users front-ends. What error message are you receiving?

Thanks Douglas,

I created one database using a FE/BE design so many users can do data entry
from their copy on their desktops. The method of distribution of the FE of
this DB' was that i created it on my desktop and then copied it to a thumb
drive and i installed the FE on each users desktop from this thumb drive.
Everything worked well but one user does not need one button of the
switchboard which opens a form.I deleted that button from their switchboard
on their desktop,,,,the other users still need that button but when they open
their FE from their desktop and click that same button.....it does not
work. The BE is on a shared folder on the network...we are using Access
2000.What is the proper procedure to make changes to FE without affecting the
other users? Is it possible one user left their FE opened and this could cause
this type of malfunction to occur?

Did you edit the SwitchboardItems table when you removed this button?
Is the SwitchboardItems table a local table in the front-end, or is it
linked from the back-end?
