changes from DVD-RW Drive (E:) to CD Drive (E:)

Hi,
I can't burn a Windows Movie Maker movie onto a DVD disc. One thing I have
noticed so far is when I right click START and goto Explore, I can see my
DVD burner as DVD-RW Drive (E:). As soon as I stick a DVD-R in the burner,
it changes from DVD-RW Drive (E:) to CD Drive (E:).
My DVD RW/R burner will play commercial DVD's and home made CD's.
Another thing I have noticed is that when I try to change the WMM movie I
made to Windows Media Player (hoping that's what it will take to burn onto a
disc), WMP says it doesnt recognize it.
One more thing, I can get the Win Movie Maker file onto a CD-R (same
burner). But the burner doesnt even see a blank DVD in it. (I get an error,
"E: inaccessable").
Any ideas? Plain English please, I'm not a geek (yet). Using XP, SP2.
TIA,
v

Windows does not support dvd burning like it supports cd burning. You need
to use the software which came with your burner, or something like
nero/roxio/tmpg dvd author/dvdlab/ulead do a couple etc etc...
