Changes applied to the whole document instead of a paragraph

Without previous warning my word is applying all "style" changes, instead of
paragraphs or text lines, to the whole document. For example, I highlight a
couple of paragraphs, apply bullets and all the document changes. It has
happen with bold, justification, numbering, etc. The funny thing is that when
I undo the change, it gives me the correct first result, i.e. bullets only
the two paragaraphs I originally wanted... Does anyone have any idea why this
is happening? I am not a novice user or anything and I have look everywhere
inside help and nothing like this is documented! Thanks!
 
You are not the only one who would like to know how this happens. Best we
can figure, it's caused by a rogue add-in.
