I moved my website to a new hosting co this week. W/ the
old company, I would go to my website, click on edit w/ ms
fp and go about my business. The new hosting co has
changed the user id and password and given both to me but
they don't allow me to log in. I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks!

Try using File Menu | Open Web in FP.

Also it may take up to 72 hours the for all of the DNS server to be updated with your site move, so
you may want to wait to Monday to try this if accessing the site via the domain name.

If you web site is using a dedicated IP Address, then you should be able to access it now via the IP
Address.

Thanks, Tom. I tried to Open Web in FP earlier. No luck. I
will check on the the dedicated IP Address if any but that
won't let me edit in FP until this user/id password issue
is resolved, right? The site was moved earlier this week
but the user/id password probably not changed until
yesterday.

It sound like you are still accessing the old web host by using the domain name, whereas the IP
Address would take you directly to the new host.

Ok, then you have to wait until the domain name is propagated to all of the DNS servers

Thanks for your help, Tom. I'm pretty sure it has
propogated already. We got in w/ FTP w/ those passwords
this a.m. but I'm not a web person; I just need to do
minimal but timely editing. I was just hoping to get some
direction on where the error might be that doesn't allow
me to get in to edit w/ frontpage.

Stephanie,

Have the ability to connect via FTP, has no bearing on being able to connect via FP's http mode. If
FTP has been used to upload the web content to the server that has the FP extensions, there is a
good chance that the extensions have been corrupted.

Have you tried to access the site via FP from any other computer and ISP?

If it is a FP issue on your machine or if is a problem with your ISP/Web Host configuration of the
extensions on the server.
