Changed C: hard drive - System Restore? WinXP

Ray

Hi, I really need help here! I changed my C: drive and
transfered all files by the hard drive software instead
of the file transfer wizard in WinXP Home Edition.
Everything works fine except "system restore" program
and "Help & Support Center".
Then I remembered the "D:" backup partition that doesn't
exist on the new C: drive. Was I supposed to create a D:
drive partition when I formatted it and if so what size?
I still have the old C: drive intact and could start over
but I have already "activated" the new C: drive. What do
I do now? Thanks...Ray.

What was on the backup partition ?? The other two problems
can be solved, but I doubt they are connected to the
partition. You should have used a cloning software.

System restore:

1. Put the in the Windows XP CD
2. Click Start , Run
3. Type the following then OK

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

You can also open Windows Explorer, go to
C:\Windows\Inf folder and right-click sr.inf (Then Install)

Help:

To reinstall Help and Support: Go to
C:\Windows\inf\pchealth.inf. Right click and choose
install. Have your CD handy.

Note: The folder is hidden by default. Go to Start/Run
and type in: control folders. View: Show hidden files and
folders and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types

If it doesn't help go to Start/Run and type in: helpctr -
regserver
