change where you downloads go

when i download something off the internet, it always goes
straight to temporary folder. how do i get it to ask me
where i want to download it to
 
Hi,
[XP\ME]
Open Windows Explorer, click "Tools" (up top)
Select: "Folder Options", click the "File Types" tab
Highlight the desired "File Type" [example] "ZIP"
Place a check in the "Confirm open after download", Click Ok

Click the down triangle on the right end of the address box that comes after you click Save,
and when it drops down, choose the desktop and then Save.
What OS are you running.
