Change the name of a drive

I hooked up a Maxtor hard drive and now when I launch one of the programs I
always use all day long (Pro Tools HD) I get an error message saying:
"You have a hard drive that is using 11 characters or more in its name"
Sure enough the Maxtor defaults to be called:
"Maxtor External (K"

How can I change this name in My computer?

From MyComputer you should be able to rt click on the Drive Icon and
choose Rename.

Right click the drive in My Computer and select rename.
