Change the Display Name in Outlook 2000

Does anyone know how can I change the way Outlook 2000
displays names and email addresses?
When I'm sending messages on the "To" filed it is
always displayed: Full Name (E-mail)
ex John Smith (E-mail)
Can I use a different field like display name without
changing the Full Name of the contact?

You can only change the Display name individually in a Contact Record by
double clicking in the email field to access that dialog box.
