I just bought a new laptop running WinXP (Home) and was given no choice in the language it was delivered in (French because I live in France). I'd like to change the menus in IE6 (6.0.2800 and all available updates) but when I try to install the English-language version, I get a message telling me to uninstall IE. Can anyone help me change the menu language please? Thanks in advance
Jill

Hi,

You can't install one language version over another, not can you mix
languages in the components. You would have to do a clean installation of
the English language version of WinXP. Installing other language support
only allows for reading/writing, it does not affect menus.

Thanks for the answer, which is the one I was hoping I wouldn't get. I had been able to make this language switch in Win98SE, so was hoping for a way to accomplish the same thing. Oh well. I'll have to live with it.
