Hi,
please advise how to modify the language from french to dutch on a (dutch)
Win2000 Pro installed system.
installing automated software programs (as printer software) results in
unwanted french language settings.
thanks
ps. language settings in software seems to be somethimes a problem for
Belgium (bi-lingual!)

If I have understood you correctly, this is what you need:

Click START, SETTING, CONTROL PANEL

Click KEYBOARD (applet)

Switch to INPUT LOCALES tab (middle one)

Click ADD & add the language you want

Made the language you want as default to default by selecting the language &
clicking SET AS DEFAULT button

Make sure the checkbox 'Enable Indicator On Taskbar' is checked (makes life
easier)

Click APPLY

Click OK

Close CONTROL PANEL

(Your defauly language appears by the clock)

Click this icon to switch languages.

thanks for your prompt answer,
but maybe I explained the problem wrong ...
I installed W2000 dutch version and I got french as basic language settings !

this (french)setting is also shown when the log-in form appears (-->options
-->indication in the left corner) although I have the windows 2000 dutch
version.
I was aware of the problem with W98. During installation + asked to fill in
the country settings and location, there was a problem for W98 when choosing
Belgian - french language and Belgian - dutch language. For W98, I normally
choose the dutch of the Netherlands and I changed afterwards the keyboard and
extra language settings for Belgium....
I thought problem would be solved for W2000 but I see the same phenomenon
.....
Questions is now how to modify the basic language settings from french to
dutch ?
thks for yr reply
