Change in settings if we open Word 2003 template in word 2007

Hi,
I need to know if some settings are changed either in registry or in any
other place if we open a .dot file in word 2007.
Its very very urgent.

Opening a template in the Word 97-2003 or Word 2007 format shouldn't change
any settings. Although if you are encountering changes then more than likely
there's a macro in the template that changes your settings, which isn't
uncommon.
