Change Graphs back to old way

Is there a way in PPT 2007 to change the way you insert and deal with data
from graphs and charts back to the old way instead of it using Excel. This
new way really sucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know this is not possible, out of curiosity why would you revert

1) To avoid having to retrain users

2) To avoid problems when passing a PPT back and forth between 2007 and
previous version-users

3) To keep all of your add-ins/macros that work with charts from breaking
