Want to change the drive letters for my cd-rom drives
from f to R and G to W. Can it be done and how. It was
easy in win98.

1. Open XP's "Help and Support" program.
2. In the Search box type in: DRIVE LETTERS , and hit enter.
3. Click on the task titled: "Assign, change, or remove a drive letter".

Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management | Disk
Management. Right-click on a drive and choose "Change drive
letter."

Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk
Management and look lower right for the graphic of the hard drive and
icons of CDs etc. Right click; Change Drive letter (for anything except
the partition where the system lives)
..

Thank you for your help everyone. This was a problem I had after reinstalling Windows XP Home. For some reason the E drive had changed to D and the D drive had changed to G. I have now changed them back and despite the warnings which appeared that programs might not work. I have fingers crossed
