Change Desktop Screen Area (Resolution) Per User

In Windows 98, each individual user on a machine could set
their own desktop screen area (resolution), and this
setting was maintained between sessions for each user
regardless of what screen area changes may have been made
by other users in the interim.

Under Windows 2000, I can't find any way to duplicate this
behavior. Any screen area change that is made by one user
changes the screen area for all other users as well. How
can I prevent this from happening so that each individual
user can maintain their own desired resolution setting?

A third-party product such as MultiRes may do what you need.
