Change default folder location

I'd like to change the location of the folder where Outlook stores the
PST files. My problem is that I want to have a PST file, which is
associated with an IMAP account, inside My Documents. But, I cannot
change the association of the PST file to an email account without
erasing the account; and, I cannot create new accounts in a folder of my
choice.

PS. If Thunderbird had a decent calendar ...

I guess I don't understand the question. Changing the location of the PST
file isn't very tough -- while Outlook is closed, move the PST file with
Windows Explorer. When you start Outlook again it will ask you where the
file is and you just point Outlook to the new location.

I'm not sure what that has to do with "changing the association of the PST
file to an email account"? Why can't you create a new account?

With some versions of Outlook, one could change the location of the IMAP
PST. It is no longer possible. What version do you use? If it will work
at all, the technique described here will do the job:

I could move the PST following the guidelines you mentioned; but the
next time Outlook runs, it will be re-created in the same place as the
original. This happens for IMAP accounts only.

I'm using Outlook 2007. Thanks for the reply, but the procedure in the
link didn't do the trick.

What would they remove features?
