I have a german version of Win2K and want to use the . as
decimal point instead of the ,

When I try to change it I get the error message that the .
is not an accepted symbol to use.

How can I get this to work correctly?

Have you changed the region settings in the control panel?
have you changed your keyboard language in control panel

try these
