Change contact properties setting?

Hi all,

I am running WinXP SP1 with Outlook XP SP1, my problem is i am trying to
import some contacts from .pst file which is exported by colleague who is
working off the Exchange server. Because i am working at home office and
running Outlook connected to a POP account through my ISP(ISP.com.au). The
contact imported fine and all the email addresses are correct, but whenever i
use these contact to send out a mail, they never reach the destination, it is
because Outlook appends something to the address when it got sent out. you
don't see it when you type in the the "To" field. (e.g try to send email to
(e-mail address removed) and it became ([email protected])@mailproxy1.ISP.com.au. When i check
the contact, if you go to the properties of a contact. Then go to the "All
fields" Tab, you will find a "Select from:" drop down box, if you select
"E-mail fields". you will find a list of Email and Email Address Type. In
the Email address type of the contact, it shows as "EX". I think it
represents Exchange server, that's why whenever Outlook try to find the
proxy to send out the email because i recognize it as Exchange Contact.
Normally contact should show it as "SMTP". I tried to change it by double
click on
it, but it didn't work.

My question is anyone knows how to change this property?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
