Change background/wallpaper?

Just before the Windows splash screen, there is a couple or so seconds of an
all black screen; the background to the splash screen is black; and then
there is several seconds of an all black screen again.

Is it possible, without using additional software, to to replace the black
screen and background with a windows or other wallpaper?

Hi,

this was designed in Windows xp and so do not try to change the behaviour. however if you are having a slow computer this can be seen for a long time. try to speed up the computer so that the boot up is faster and you will have less time seeing the black screens.
