Hi,

I have a Kingston CF card 1024MB.

Download sometimes with around 6 MB/sec.,
sometimes around 32 MB/sec. Why is this?

XPH SP2, external reader on USB2 port

TIA - flowe

You need to define just how you quantified such findings.

You need to define just how you quantified such findings.

I use the "Total Commander" http://www.ghisler.com/
as my one and only Windows Manager, and it permanently
monitors transfer rates. I up- and downloaded image files
about 8MB each to full capacity of the CF card. The above
indicated range 6 : 32 MB/sec is very plausible, I felt
no need to measure the time required for a full load.

New card reader bought only today, could this be faulty?
Up to now used a USB 1.1 one with slightly less than 1MB/sec
either way.
