certain windows won't open

Specifically, the TASK MANAGER, REGEDIT, and the MSCONFIG windows only open
for a brief moment and then close instantly. There may be more that won't
stay open that I just haven't tried yet. How do I stop this from
happening..??

Anybody know the answer to this one..??

From what I understand, there is a virus that causes this symptom. Have you
scanned recently with a current antivirus program?
