centering text

I seem to have lost my left align, centre justify etc and also bold italic underline buttons - can anyone tell me how to retreive them?

Version of Word?

If Word 2000, go to Tools | Customize | Options, and clear the boxes for
"Standard and Formatting toolbars share one row" and "Menus show recently
used items first."

If Word 2002, go to Tools | Customize | Options, and check the boxes for
"Always show full menus" and "Show Standard and Formatting toolbars on two
rows."

If this doesn't solve the problem, see

One way is to reset your formatting toolbar.

Right-click any toolbar and choose customize
Click the toolbars ta
Select the formatting toolbar and click Reset on the right

This will bring it back to the way it was originally
