center of desktop not refreshed when app. minimized

Hi, I'm having a weird problem with xp pro x64. When I minimize an
application, there's an area in the middle of the screen that continues to
show the application. When I drag a window over this area, it leaves a trail.
The area does not respond to right-click. The 'show desktop' shortcut works
properly.

I'm running a 1600x1200 desktop on a Geforce 7600 GT with 91.31 x64 drivers.
Does anyone know if and how this can be fixed?

It could be because of your system is infected with Spyware / Malware or just
a Web Item is being set on your desktop.

Before scanning your PC for spyware, give a simple try to web-item:

1. Right-click on Desktop choose Properties
2. Click Desktop tab and click Customize
3. Click the Web tab and uncheck the Web Pages listed (if any)

Thanks for the help, but it turned out to be something different -- an
application I'd closed was still running in the background. It had been
displaying in the affected area before I closed it.
