Cells format

I would like to know how to change the top of the cells. Instead o
A,B,C,D,etc how can I put what I want in it instead of the letters
any help would be appreciated I know zilch about data base.

Hi Richie!

AFAIK, you can't, sort of!

You can change the column headings to numbers:

Tools>Options>General>R1C1 reference style

But, if you don't want either letter or number
designations you can choose not to have row or column
headings displayed and use the first row and column of
cells and enter your own names.

Tools>Options>View>Row and column headers

I guess you are looking to make column headings for your data. Easy, just type them into the row above your data. If your data starts in row 1 already, just insert a row above it: put your cursor in any cell in row 1, select Insert / Rows.
 
Thanks for the help. thought i could chage the letters. I am trying t
make a listing or inventory of all my music. I was trying to chang
the letters on the top instead of the a it would read Song title, (B
would be Artist etc. But I guess it would work with out the letters o
numbers.Like I said I know nothing about data base or spread sheets.
