Cell Protection

I want to protect a range of cells within a worksheet. I
have selected format cells & locked the relevant cells,
also selected cells i want unprotected and de selected
locked option. Then i have protected the whole worksheet.
This has worked in terms of locking the cells i dont want
changes to & allowing text to be input to the unlocked
cells, but it will not allow me to colour/fill the
unlocked cells. Any idea's ???

Hi,

In XL97, 2000 you'll just have to turn the protection off to apply
colour/fill to those cells, then reapply protection.

In 2002 there are a range of options offered when turning on sheet
protection.
