You can set a print area that doesn't include the cell. Or, you can use
conditional formatting to add the cell border, and hide it when
printing. There's an example here:
Select cell D4
Choose Format, Conditional Formatting
From the first dropdown, choose Formula Is
In the formula box, type: =D4<>""
Click the Format button, and select the borders you want
Click OK, click OK
