CE.Net Applications Fail to Run on Pocket PC

This may be a familiar problem, but I still don't have a solution. As it
has happened to others, there is obviously a bug or some other condition
in CE.Net that causes the following to happen:

Basically, the problem is, as I install software to a new Pocket PC
device, eventually, all CE.Net applications stop working. You click on
them and nothing happens. No app start, no errors, nothing. Yet the icon
appears in the "last apps started" list at the top of the start menu, as
if the app had run. But nothing happens. The CE.Net apps run fine at
first. But eventually, as I install apps to a new device or to one I just
hard resetted, the CE.Net apps don't work. I tried installing the CE.Net
Service Pack (SP2 I believe) but still nothing.

I looked at the software that got installed after CE.Net apps stopped
working. There's nothing there that would seem to indicate something that
might break CE.Net. Personally, I believe it is some other issue, like for
instance the size of the registry becoming too big or some other OS
factor. But every Windows Mobile 2003 PPC I had (well, three of them) did
this behavior. Only my Windows Mobile SE device (a Toshiba e805) did not
break CE.Net. Again, making me thing MS fixed a bug.

I install a lot of apps and I think this may be a factor. I regret not
installing one app at a time to see if one of them breaks CE.Net. However,
I just got a new iPaq 6315 and I don't really feel like having to rebuild
my device again.

A number of people reported this problem as I googled around. But no one
had any answers.

The below forum thread at Brighthand got a number of responses. I tried
some of the suggestions, including uninstalling and reinstalling CF.Net
SP2 but still nothing. Any ideas on how to fix this?
