CE.NET

I know this isn't the right place to be asking this, at least I assume
so, but I have clients asking me the difference between Windows Mobile
2003 and Microsoft CE.NET. Can anyone please explain...and will
Windows Mobile software work on CE devices 4.1 and newer, please help.

Thanks

I think that this is on Microsoft.com, if you look for it. Windows Mobile
2003 is based on Windows CE.NET 4.2, with additional capabilities, a special
shell, etc. That is, it's a conglomeration of components with Windows
CE.NET. A WM2003 device *is* running Windows CE.NET, but a Windows CE.NET
device may or may not be running WM2003.

There's no one right answer to whether software written for the superset
platform will run on the subset platform(s). Further, since there is not
*a* Windows CE.NET 4.2, but an infinite number, designed by device OEMs for
things like factory automation equipment, handheld and truck-mounted
devices, etc. The only way to know is to try...
