CDRW-DVD COMBO NOT DETECTING

Bob

I have a BTC combo drive which works perfectly under win98
but does not detect at all in winXP (no drive assigned).
I have done a firmware update and have installed sp1 and
done all possible windows updates. Reinstalling winXP
didnt seem to work either. My normal 52x cdrom works fine
under XP. ive tried putting the cdrom on primary,
secondary master/slave, all combinations....Any ideas?

Hi,

I have the same setup. My CD is a secondary on the first
IDE channel and the DVD is a secondary on my 2nd IDE
channel.

Make sure your BIOS is configured to Autodetect all IDE
channels. Do both devices post when the BIOS is detecting
devices at startup ?

Regards,

Tim
