CDrom drives

I just noticed today that both my CDrom/dvd and my CDrw
drives aren't recognized by my pc. I recently upgraded
from win98 to XP. I did use these drives since but they
don't appear in My Computer and the CDrom/DVd wonMt even
open. The other one does but no actions are taken when I
insert a cd. Any help would be appreciated...

reply yes ive have the same problem and it seem to be

getting worse by the day .it requires me to reboot my
system each time to get the drive back up again .as a
couple of us are having this problem it my be system ie
xp drivers going a drift
 
Same here, I posted this same question a few days ago and
no one has touched it. I searched 2 years in this thing
and found many others with the same issue, but no real
answers. Really would like someone who knows something
about this to address it please.
