I have a new computer with XP Pro.
I have 2 CDR/RW drives.
Neither of the drives will read older CDRW disc
that are read with udf reader.
How can I correct this problem?

What do you mean by "that are read with UDF reader"?
Were the disks orignally formatted for packet-writing? If
so, is the same packet-writing software installed on the
new computer? If not, you won't be able to read the disks.

Wislu, this may be a stupid question, but I'm curious if this is right.
If a CD-RW is formatted as Mt. Ranieer format and the old CD-RW drive
was able to read and write that format, but the new drive doesn't have
Mt. Ranieer capabilities, the new drive will be able to read the CD-RW
with special software, but it will not be able to write to it. Correct?

I haven't been able to use Mt. Raneeir format in so long since all I
have is a DVD Burner with HD-Burn capabilities. I gave up my CD Burner
because it is pointless to use it when I can put 1.4 GB of data on a CD
with my DVD Burner.

Not a stupid question at all, because the general use
of optical disks is so different from the magnetic media
we've all been used to for so long. It's still in flux,
what with the rapid move from CD to DVD and the multiple
competing formats, and now the sudden addition of dual-
layer DVDs. Your statement is essentially correct,
however, although the answer may be different tomorrow if
things keep changing as rapidly as they have in the last
few years.

Thanks :)

It's just been a while since I've used a CD Burner or Mt. Raineer. I
love HD Burn though :)
