CDM file

I backed up my OE and address book onto a CDR in 2003, using Win ME. I'm
trying to open the files in XP, and the error message says they were backed
up as a .cdm file. I can't open it in Outlook, even though that is where XP
sends me. The dialog box in XP gives me lots of choices in Access, power
Point, etc, but nothing works. Can anyone help me? If I have posted to the
wrong area, I apologize. I didn't know where else to go. I really need to
view my backed up email messages I specifically intended to save.

Seems like you have saved the files in the wrong format. They should have
been with a .CVS text format .
Try exporting the addresses again into other address book using comma
seperated values. With a filename like address.cvs

"(e-mail address removed)"

thank you for the very prompt reply. I admit to not knowing very much about
how to perform the action you told me to do. The backup CDR is in my E:/,
and when I tried to import the file to OE, it did not work. Would you care to
tell me step by step what to do? I know you are very busy, so thanks in
advance for your help! i also copied the file to a USB Jumpdrive (H:/) to see
if I could play with it from there, but no luck.
