My CD Writing has gone AWOL! When I right click a file
and select "send to", my CD writer had always been an
option. It has now disappeared! Also, when I try to
drag files to my CD writer in Windows explorer, I get
a "not accessible. Function not available" message. My
CD writer does still work, because I can access it
through other programs like Record Now, but the feature
in XP is gone. Does anyone know how to get it back?
Thanks!

Right click the drive in Explorer, select Properties, Recording tab and make
sure XP's recording features are turned on.

Thanks! It was turned off. I'm not sure how it got
turned off - but it was!

Have more than one CD writing device?
Here, only one can be enabled for recording at any one time...and it will
disable the other.

Some software packages will turn it of at install, to avoid conflicts.
