CD writing Wizard

Ok, here is my problem,
I had to reformat my HD, I partitioned it into 2 drives, 76 GB for each one.
My problem is somehow, the cd writing wizard wants to write my Program Files
Directiry to a cd. in other words I get a notification whenever I insert a
CD that files are waiting to be written. I looke at these files and the are
the exact contents of the Program Files Directory. How do I remove these
files from the wizard. I tried to delete the files, but it sayd that one of
the directories has a file in it that is in use. I am also afraid of
deleting these Items for fear that they will delete off of my Hard Drive.

Thanx for your help

Hi,

Open Windows Explorer to this folder and delete the contents:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning

Hi,

Go to the Control Panel/Folder Options, and on the View tab, set the options
so you can see hidden and system files. Specifically:

Enable (check) "Display the contents of system folders"
Enable (check) "Show hidden files and folders"
Disable (uncheck): "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"

I also recommend that you disable (uncheck) "hide extensions for known file
types". Then take another look.

OK, I tried everything you said, but the folder has nothing in it. Soooo...I
tried looking thru the registry. and found 6 instance of cd burning. as
follows:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00da2f99-f2a6-40c2-b770-a920f8e44abc}: default
REG_SZ shellfolder for cd burning. (Also in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\CLSID\)

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{fbeb8a05-beee-4442-804e-409d6c4515e9}: default
REG_SZ shellfolder for cd burning (Also in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\CLSID\)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders CD Burning REG_SZ C:\Program files

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders CD Burning REG_EXPAND_SZ %ProgramFiles% (I honestly believe
this is the culprit. Just kind of nervous to delete.)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IMAPI\StashInfo StashNewPath REG_SZ
C:\CD Burning Stash File.bin (can't locate this file at all. Can I delete
this entry)

Normally this wouldn't bother me so, but it is inconvenient when I am in the
middle of a scary part of DOOM 3 and the program minimizes and wants me to
burn my whole Program Files Directory. Anyway, thanx for the help
